Our project "Civilizations" is about pluralism and showing
up some diversity of the German
and Chinese civilization, both contrast and stress.
We concentrate on topics of comparative pedagogical sinology keeping
in mind the notorious
experience with the peculiarity of German officers and teachers
in China. Doing this we are
very interested in those people who are attracted of the Chinese
(or Asian) civilization.
First results are now part of our website www.confusius.de
(sorry, only in German).
There we do a simple discussion of some Germans like Friedrich
Nietzsche, Karl Marx,
Immanuel Kant, Wilhelm Busch, Paul Carus, of course with emotions
and amusement.
In time of the nineteenth century the stereotype of "yellow
peril" and "sinister oriental"
was born. Just before the Chinese civilization was interesting
because of the high level.
Today we should avoid stereotypes anyhow.
Also during that exploration there are informations for those
Germans who want to get a
teacher in China but still let themselves tought.
